Wir wissen beide, dass ich nicht hierher gehöre, aber der Preis hier abzuhauen ist, ihn zu verlieren.
Sally ist mein Licht in dieser Finsternis.
Sie hat keine Ahnung, wer ich wirklich bin, und trotzdem hilft sie mir, mich daran zu erinnern, wofür ich kämpfe.
Mir ist nie aufgefallen, wie sehr ich sie brauche, bis er sie mir gestohlen hat.

Factory Mechanic – 04 – Die Mechanikerin

Autos sind meine Leidenschaft. Ich tune und fahre sie. Und zwar schnell.
So schnell, dass Polizisten überall auf der Welt nur meine Auspuffgase zu sehen bekommen.
Aber selbst das schnellste Auto kann keiner nuklearen Katastrophe davonfahren.
Dennoch will mich die Factory mitten in eine hineinschicken und akzeptiert kein Nein als Antwort.
Als wäre die Strahlengefahr nicht schon schlimm genug, ist da noch Lee, der Vollstrecker einer kriminellen Organisation. Er ist so heiß, dass er meinen Kern zum Schmelzen bringt, und gleichzeitig so kalt, dass er mich am Ende unserer Mission für immer verschwinden lassen könnte.

Wenn es ein Problem zu lösen gibt, bin ich der Mann, an den sich die Leute wenden. Dummheit zu korrigieren, ist gewissermaßen meine Jobbeschreibung. Ich bin kein Fiesling, ich tue nur, was getan werden muss, und stelle keine Fragen.
Zumindest sollte das so sein. So war es, bis ich Kyla begegnet bin. Die kluge, kurvige und unglaublich attraktive Fahrerin des Teams öffnet mir die Augen für neue Möglichkeiten.
Mit ihr könnte ich ein anderes Leben beginnen – und mit dem Schatz, den wir bei dieser Mission einsammeln sollen. Aber zuerst muss sie das Unmögliche tun. Sie muss mir vertrauen, sonst werden wir es nicht lebend aus diesem Wahnsinn herausschaffen.
